RTI Filing Assistant Agent

The Right to Information (RTI) Act 2005 gives every Indian citizen the right to request information from any public authority. However, many people struggle to identify the correct authority, frame their questions precisely, and format the application correctly. An RTI assistant agent guides citizens through this process step by step.

In this tutorial, we build an RTI filing assistant that takes a citizen's information need, identifies the correct public authority and Public Information Officer (PIO), frames legally precise RTI questions, and generates a ready-to-submit RTI application letter.

The below example shows the agent helping a Mumbai citizen file an RTI about road repair works in their area.

Submit this letter via the RTI Online Portal at rtionline.gov.in for central government departments, or at the respective state RTI portal for state departments. MCGM RTI can be filed at mcgm.gov.in. If no response is received within 30 days, file a First Appeal to the First Appellate Authority under Section 19 of the RTI Act.
